Briars Hut is such an amazing shepherds hut and has everything you could need for a relaxing stay. We really welcomed that it was big enough to have a bathroom within it- others we’ve stayed in before have had communal facilities externally which wasn’t really our cup of tea. I was so surprised with how well equipped it was and how much could fit inside it. The hut is in the front garden of the owners house, but they have done a really good job of trying to seclude it.

The hut is dog friendly which was a big reason we booked. Even better, it was all enclosed so our dog could go running around in some of the grounds. Beware there is a pond, our dog is a curious breed and wouldn’t stop going near it, he also drunk out of it and got a bit sick in the night but hopefully your dog is better behaved than ours if you’re considering booking here!

The hot tub was a lovely addition, although you have to pay extra for it. Personally I think it should just be part of the package. We couldn’t get the hang of how to heat it the second night and it was lukewarm so felt like we’d wasted some money (although if it was a bit earlier in the evening, I have no doubt I could have contacted the owner for some help).

It’s a really nice area too, we had brunch and dinner at the local pub which is dog friendly, literally less than 10 minute walk away.

It was the break we needed and even though the weather wasn’t kind for us, we had a great weekend away.
